Economic Uncertainty Leading To Global Unrest

This morning the migraine I have been battling for the past 48 hours woke me up as if it was wielding a baseball bat and hitting me over the head. My eyes were swollen sore when I woke up, and trying to move was incredibly hard.

Yet it was a day with so much scheduled, and there was no way to reschedule anything. Feeling so bad I wanted to crawl back into bed I crawled into the truck instead. As I drove away I wondered if I could ever safely get the truck where I needed to go, knowing that I would be driving back and forth until after noon.

Perhaps God truly does look after fools and children ... for I somehow managed despite the migraine pounding away and feeling so sick to my stomach, but I returned to the shed exactly as I departed this morning. Very ill.

I have been watching the socio-economic state of affairs in Great Britain very closely in the past few days not knowing how far or how dangerous the riots would get. These are strange days, hard and uncertain days.
Economic Uncertainty Leading To Global Unrest

London is reeling from three nights of rioting that's poured hundreds of people into the streets, leaving several local neighborhoods in shambles. One man is dead, dozens injured and arrested.

The protests have now spread to other cities, with violence reported in parts of Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol.

Great Britain and other parts of the world are experiencing unrest at a time of global economic uncertainty and stock market volatility.

Here's a look at what's happening around the world and how economic downturns are bringing protestors into the streets.

Great Britain

Police in London say the violence began during a vigil for a man, Mark Duggan, who’d been killed by police. However, those on the streets say what's happening goes beyond one man's death.

In late June, half the public schools in Britain where closed by a massive protest over public pensions cuts, including three major teachers' unions, customs and immigration officers, and air traffic controllers. Some 750,000 people took part in the protest.

London's press has reported that discontent has been simmering among Britain's urban poor for years, in neighborhoods like Tottenham, where the riots started.

But as one man told NBC News about an economic protest two months ago, "There was not a word in the press about our protests. Last night (Saturday) a bit of rioting and looting and now look around you."

In response to the violence, Prime Minister David Cameron has said law and order will prevail in Great Britain and he's doubled the amount of police officers in the streets and instituted curfews for young adults.

Cameron's conservative government is under fire for spending cuts to social programs in order to help reduce the country's debt. Among those hit the hardest are large numbers of minority youths who have been at the forefront of the unrest.

Israel

Some 250,000 people took to the streets of Tel Aviv on Saturday over the rising cost of living. Demonstrations actually began last month when a few people set up tents in an expensive part of Tel Aviv to protest rising property prices.

The protests have moved to other cities in Israel, where some 50,000 people rallied.

The demonstrations have turned into a major challenge for the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Polls released last week show his approval ratings have dropped while support for the protesters is high.

Netanyahu has announced a series of reforms including freeing up land for construction and offering tax breaks. But the reforms have only increased anger in the streets, according to reports.

Here are some of the demands from protestors, according to Reuters:

  • Increase personal tax brackets for top earners
  • Enshrine the right to housing in the law; introduce rent controls; boost mortgage relief
  • Stop further privatization of things such as health facilities
  • Provide free education for all from the age of three months
  • Raise the minimum wage to 50 percent of the average wage
Spain, Greece, Portugal

All three of these European Union nations have experienced protests and rioting in reaction to government austerity programs and bad economic conditions.

In late June, riots broke out in Athens and other parts of Greece as the country's parliament voted to approve severe cutbacks in government spending.

Dozens were hurt and businesses destroyed as police battled rioters with tear gas and night sticks.

Greek lawmakers made the cuts in order to receive more bailout money from the International Monetary Fund and European Union—or run the risk of defaulting on their debts.

In Spain, thousands of people turned out in late May to protest the country's 21 percent unemployment rate.

They also demonstrated against government corruption and austerity measures to reign in the country's debt. Hundreds of people set up tents in a Madrid square and spent a week there in protest.

Portugal saw massive strikes and protests last March in response to government spending cuts. At least 200,000 people gathered in Lisbon.

The Philippines

Thousands of workers took to the streets throughout the country in May of this year to march for higher pay. They demanded better wages in light of rising inflation, including higher oil prices.

They called on the government of President Benigno Aquino III to do more to help protect jobs.

In reaction, the government held job fairs as hundreds of workers have been laid off as the economy slumps. Workers say that effort has fallen far short of what they want.

China

Nearly 1,000 cab drivers in eastern China blocked traffic and protested on Aug. 1 over rising fuel costs. It was the latest sign of discontent about the country's surging inflation.

Inflation is hitting China hard, with food prices recently increasing 12 percent. Many Chinese officials are reporting concern that inflation, along with rising property prices, could lead to even more unrest.

This past June, thousands of workers battled for three days with police in the capital city of the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. They were protesting declining living standards.

The recent protests can be traced back to February of this year, in what was an attempt to copy the Arab Spring uprising. That's when calls through Chinese social networks were sent out for an uprising in several local cities.

However, reports say the turnout was small in comparison to the enormous police presence and there were more clashes between journalists and officials than demonstrators.

Syria

In another legacy from the Arab Spring, protests and riots in Syria against the rule of President Bashar al-Assad have been going on for five months.

Reports say at least 1,600 people have been killed by government forces.

The demonstrations are a combination of calls for economic as well as political changes. Assad's government has promised a package of reforms including higher wages, letting political parties exist, easing restrictions on the media, and a new anti-corruption drive. But so far, none of the measures has been set in place.

Last week Assad sent troops and tanks to quell the mostly Sunni Muslim city of Hama in central Syria, and the army launched a similar assault on Sunday against Deir al-Zor.

Syria has cracked down with deadly force on protests in the past. In 1982 then-president Hafez al Assad—the father of Bashar al-Assad—sent troops into the Syrian town of Hama, killing between 10,000 and 40,000 people.

Syria's Arab neighbors as well as the United States have called for Assad to step down. He's ruled Syria for the past 11 years after succeeding his father. Assad says he has no intention of giving up his post as president.

Here in Ruidoso I'm unsure what the tourist numbers are in 2011 but to myself the numbers appear to be down. I drove through mid-town again this morning and there just didn't seem to be the numbers we normally seen. Of course I could be wrong.
This region is financed by the oil industry, mostly out of Texas, so if oil prices remain high we simply see a pattern of "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" during a bad recession/depression.

The economic instability would have seriously effected me even if I was in the home we bought and paid for. But having had all of the building fund stolen opened the door to see a totally different world.
To a vast majority of the population the homeless become a sub-human creature not even human beings. Human dignity, respect, justice becomes so fragile that it shatters right in front of your eyes. It's the most incredible thing I have ever witnessed, and the most horrifying. And I know that I am not imagining it. Everyone who uses the words "compassion," "caring," "Christ" in their vocabulary, but go to a comfortable home each day, need to give up their home to experience 6 months of homelessness where they have to admit, "I am homeless."
It would change their world forever.

Patricia Ogilvie-Huckins you were present the day I signed contract with your son. You walked out of the kitchen with Sylvi Huckins and your son introduced me to you. He told you that I was the British horse trainer he had told you about, the one he was going to build the home and barn for. Why didn't you say something? There may be a rational and reasonable explanation but I have spent over 3 years, homeless, not understanding it. I understand it even less knowing that though I was a total stranger, both Dorothy McKeever and Sally Canning you KNEW.

Dr. Kenneth Ogilvie, I contacted you and simply asked for a reference, not knowing that Robert Huckins was your cousin. Robert Huckins had just stolen over $30,000 from the domestic violence shelter, HEAL, yet everyone was trying to hide it. There was a history of stealing large amounts of money. $65,000 PLUS from Nancy Canning. $89,000 PLUS from Dorothy McKeever. The list just goes on and on and on.

Super Fly

A migraine started last night that seemed to have come from hell itself. All night I kept trying to go to sleep, only to find sleep impossible. I had sprayed so much fly spray into this small 10 x 12 area that it should have killed us all, but I seem to have found a new "super fly" that is totally impervious to chemical warfare.
By sunrise the migraine medication had decreased the severity of the pain, blurred vision and vomiting but I was thoroughly wiped out physically.

The weather this morning was simply gorgeous. While speaking to someone on the east coast a few days ago I mentioned that here in the Sacramento Mountains we don't get the type of heat most regions do. But this afternoon I found myself eating those words as the temperature soared to 91 degree's. Thankfully it remained so cloudy and overcast the temperature didn't feel like it had entered the 90's.

Despite all the problems rain causes me personally, we need more, and today the rain didn't arrive as forecast. Perhaps tomorrow.I still have not heard a word about the electricity but I'm not too sure that I want to start playing phone tag trying to find out if anyone found anything out because it gets me so upset.

I am simply terrified. I don't think I can survive another winter in the elements. The adversity is so hard on my body. Yet I don't have the earning capacity to get into a home either. I have no problem with dying. If I died it would be the greatest blessing God could give me.. it's the physical pain of trying to put one step in front of the other as a homeless woman that mortifies me.
My boss used to say that one day I'd be found dead in this shed. To which I say "Amen." But the thought of being left homeless, suffering, is beyond anything I could ever conceive in my worst nightmare.
Again the economy has been in the headlines and the financial security almost on a global scale should be a wake up call for everyone who desires to protect their families and not subject them to un-necessary hardships. But what about those who are homeless? I never thought I would say "we" when it came to homelessness - today I do say "we."

There has to be someone related to Robert & Sylve Huckins must have some means to reach them, if it be Michael Huckins, Dr.Kenneth Ogilvie ( Diana Huckins? Dominic Huckins? Home Sweet Home

I woke up this morning to the second generation of flies. Offspring of the original squatters that inundated this shed yesterday. Rio was just laid on the muddy bed looking at the flies thoroughly whipped. After several phone calls to the Arbico company I realized that I can't get none toxic fly deterrent until tomorrow.. so I went to town to become armed with cans of fly spray.
This is now a war.

As I started to drive out the horse shoer was driving in. I was hoping that we could put off the shoeing until the horse had acquired enough body weight to hold a saddle and rider without the spinal column and surrounding muscle tissue being rubbed raw for lack of flesh.. but it is what it is. Perhaps it will be too wet and muddy to ride for a few days.

He's already starting to flesh out a little. And that timid withdrawn persona who wanted humans to keep a distance has been replaced by a hip-pocket reaction to human presence. Instead of fleeing.. he now follows wondering what goodies may be coming his way. Clearly this horse believes that a grooming brush and fly spray are fine enough goodies for him.

By 1.30 am the rain started in earnest, but it didn't last longer than an hour. Just long enough for several hundred more flies to find their way from the horse paddock into the shed, and add a bit more flooding. Then it started up again around 4.30 pm.
Be careful what you wish for...I spend the afternoon trying to drag muddy wet clothes to the basement to get them washed.. for no other reason than I would like at least 10 minutes on clean sheets before I lose my ever loving mind.
I am reminded every step of the way that THIS is what I spent $140,000 to acquire. A shed under water, full of mold. No heat, no creature comforts, my health failing at a rapid rate and I am blessed to have this. Without it I would truly experience the "American Dream" on the streets. No woman should be left homeless by a convicted felon. This is no way to live.Tonight I am going to fight flies. Joy oh, joy.

Someone related to Robert & Sylve Huckins must have some means to reach them, if it be Michael Huckins, Dr.Kenneth Ogilvie ( Diana Huckins? Dominic Huckins? Malcolm Huckins? ) or Patricia Ogilvie-Huckins. I, like those victims who came before me, have been dragged through a living hell and I simply beg for your mercy. I can't obtain a home until Robert Huckins returns the money he stole from us that was to buy a home. Had he given the money back when he promised the white collar crime investigators I wouldn't be making this plea today. Had he never stolen any money I wouldn't be making this plea today. But he pushes the abuse and torment to an extent where no alternatives are offered. I am homeless and I want to see my mum and return to my career, so I won't stop asking if I have to ask every single day until I die. Robert Huckins gave no-one an alternative, so I plead with sincerity for your mercy.

Normal - The Setting On A Washing Machine

Sometimes it's really difficult to discern what "normal" should be. I was up bright and early shoveling mud from around my packed belongings. I never thought that this would be my normal, but today it is.
I never thought I would have to wade through mud in a 10x12 foot area of living space in a garden shed to get into a bed. But today I do. And we still need more rain. That is a reality no-one could deny.

I am in so much physical pain my temper is getting short. I have such a high tolerance to pain but this is too much for any human being and no amount of pain killers will give me any relief.
Thankfully the rain wasn't a deluge today as it was yesterday, and even though in serious pain I managed to get out and work outside a little. Today I acted like a bear with a sore paw. I just can't handle this pain any longer.

I managed to get over to Harvey's to get the trailer and a load of hay and got to the Lazy J quite early, but I have not spoken to Jan so I have no idea if she asked about the electricity. I drove into the rain coming back to Alto on Angus Hill. The horse shoer I phoned yesterday never arrived despite scheduling two appointments today, the first before noon and the second after noon. But the 3,000 flies did arrive, brought in by the horse, and when I walked back into the shed around 12.30 pm I was met with a veritable army of flies.
An entire can of fly spray still hasn't killed them all but Rio is bouncing around the bed frantically trying to catch them all, one by one. This may not be the time to tell Rio that she is a born and bred German Shorthair Pointer, a bird dog, and those are flies.. not birds. She seems to be having too much fun for me to spoil it for her.

A Different Kind Of Reality System!

There are times when you watch the news and it seems like you are in a different kind of reality system. The entire country is suffering under a dangerous unrelenting heatwave, and we are freezing.
Or at least I am.I woke up at 4.30 am hurting so bad it took 2 hours before I could get my limbs to move without tears running down my face. The 52 degrees outside had brought temperatures in the lower 40's inside this shed, but the concrete floor was wet and the walls damp. By 8.30 am my feet felt as though I had them in the freezer all night even though I had socks and shoes on.
I'm not too sure which is the worst, blistering heat or freezing cold in August, but I rather suspect if we have to chose between extremes I will feel blessed being this cold and damp during the night for I know the daytime may or may not bring relief. I cannot even fathom how to face the winter.

Before I managed to get moving around a local cowboy arrived with a horse. I didn't want my boss to bring any horses back here.

I'm too ill to struggle with the weight of a western saddle every day, I can't tow with a 200+ lb 87 yr old rider who can't mount a horse unassisted and we simply don't have the room. Plus it puts the horse adjacent to the shed I am occupying. A door separating myself, our furniture, all our belongings, and I am already having a horrible time with mold and damp with no need to add horse manure to the problem. But the horse arrived, and when I saw the condition of the poor animal I almost came out of my skin.

I can't quite figure out people who won't feed the animals they have in their care. It's beyond frustrating. The horse doesn't quite fit the category of emaciated, but he's too close for my comfort and had clearly been trying to survive on mesquite beans. When you are not in pain you can almost handle anything with an element of tact, but in excruciating pain, cold, wet and miserable patience becomes very short and I started snapping about the condition of this poor horse.

As I drove into Ruidoso Downs going to the feed store I drove into one of the worst storms I have seen in 2-3 years. Hwy 70 was flooding so bad cars and trucks were creeping along at 15 mph, 6-8 inches of water going across the road made it nothing beyond a water obstacle, a river without an end.

An hour later I was still sat at Harvey's wondering what to do. It was futile loading bales of hay onto the trailer, and rain just kept coming without slowing or stopping. I made the decision to unhook the trailer and try again tomorrow, bringing enough feed for the horse here.

It looked as though the black rain clouds were heading south or south-east. But coming back to the shed I realized my error.. the rain had come north into Alto.
The entire shed is underwater. Everything soaked, walls, floor, my belongings, boxes of family photo's, books, household items. Far too many to move and no where to put them. All soaked again. Even the bedclothes over the bed I am sleeping on were soaked with muddy filthy water.

August, and the rains came in earnest and I am sat with my clothes covered in mud. I can't even stand the thought of winter. I can't even stand the thought of tomorrow.

If this isn't abuse what is? I want to go home to the home we bought and paid for. I want to have warmth and comfort, and this physical pain and emotional abuse to end.

Someone related to Robert & Sylve Huckins must have some means to reach them, if it be Michael Huckins, Dr.Kenneth Ogilvie ( Diana Huckins? Dominic Huckins? Malcolm Huckins? ) or Patricia Ogilvie-Huckins and persuade Robert Huckins to return ALL of the money he stole from us.

I, like those victims who came before me, have been dragged through a living hell and I simply beg for your mercy. No woman should be left homeless because of a criminal who refuses to return the money he stole. I can't obtain a home until Robert Huckins returns the money he stole from us that was to buy a home, and I can't remain homeless and survive. These are absolutes, realities I cannot change. I have tried.

Had he given the money back when he promised the white collar crime investigators I wouldn't be making this plea today. Had he never stolen any money I wouldn't be making this plea today.

But he pushes the abuse and torment to an extent where no alternatives are offered. I am homeless and I want to see my mum and return to my career, I can't be outside through another winter, so I won't stop asking if I have to ask every single day until I die.

Today Robert Huckins has his own home...
He also has OUR home.....
He also has a lot of people's money...
And his freedom.

Robert Huckins gave no-one an alternative, so I plead with sincerity for your mercy and intervention.

Hot Coffee Day

The rain, and sleet, arrived in earnest around noon and what was wonderfully refreshing here in Alto started landslides and flooding in some parts of Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs. I managed to get the work done and get inside the shed as the rain started to pour.

Once upon a time I would thoroughly enjoy days like today. When I had a warm comfortable home. When I could make hot meals, when the smell of baking comforted. When family and friends could visit. When I could say that I am "going home." or "staying home," "inviting people home," having guests "come stay at my home."
Today the closest I can come to comfort is while sat in a vehicle.

Sitting in the dark cold damp shed today, listening to the pouring rain, simply left me cold and confused. The tumors in my spine, hips, ankles are starting to become so painful as the damp continues. I keep thinking that I can undo the damage I have physically sustained in the past 3 years of homelessness, but then reality hits and I wonder if I will even survive it let alone physically recover. How can anyone do this to another human being and look themselves in the mirror each day?

Jan and I discussed competitive trail rides and trying to get this single wide and barn of mine finished. Prayerfully by Sunday I should know what I am facing, financially, getting the electricity to my land. What a long row to hoe this has been. By 3. 30 pm I just had to get out, even if it was to take advantage of the warm and light in the truck, so I drove to Ruidoso to do some shopping for my boss.

Strange days these are. When a convicted felon has your home, your family, your future in his hands and there is nothing you can do to make him return the building fund that he stole.

I can only appeal again to the Ogilvie-Huckins family. If that person is Malcolm Huckins, Dr. Kenneth Ogilvie, or Patricia Ogilvie-Huckins. ( Diana Huckins? Dominic Huckins? Malcolm Huckins? ) Your brother, son, cousin stole our building fund and having tried every method to get a home without it we simply can't do the impossible. My mother sold her ONLY home to buy one here. Not a second home, or a spare rental. The only home she has had, that took 60+ years of working full time to obtain. Please help us retrieve our building fund so that we, too, can have a home before winter arrives, and have our lives returned to us. We have put up with more pain and suffering than any women should be forced to withstand - and we are not the only women to go through living hell because of Robert Huckins.
Today Robert Huckins has his own home...
He also has OUR home.....
He also has a lot of people's money...
And his freedom.
PLEASE help me help myself. I have never begged before in my life, but after 3 years of trying to get a home it's become clearly obvious to everyone that we won't ever have a home - unless our building fund is returned.Almost all of us long for peace and freedom; but very few of us have much enthusiasm for the thoughts, feelings, and actions that make for peace and freedom. ~Aldous Huxley

Thunder And.... RAIN!

The rain finally came in earnest and listening to it pour down was an absolute delight. Life inside this garden shed is beyond unbearable when the weather is cool and damp, and I am having problems typing. The arthritis, the Bassel-Hagens disease, the mold, damp and dropping temperatures is too much of a hardship for my body to withstand. But the rain.. what an absolute blessing because the land was so dry and parched. With three or four days of rain forecast I can do no other than pray for a lot more rain.

My youngest daughter was released from the hospital after her leg was lanced, but she is yet again required to go into house restriction isolation seeing as the MRSA is highly contagious. She was turned her down for disability because they say that a person with MRSA can go into the workforce, but the state health dept. say that she cannot leave the house.
I am so thoroughly confused. Perhaps her body will heal enough in the near future to get control of the MRSA, but she looks so deathly ill this is simply mortifying me.

I have still not heard a word about the electricity to my land and hope is fading fast. If it wasn't so deathly serious it would almost be amusing.

For a woman left homeless by a career criminal the economy is simply terrifying.
Going Nowhere: Economy Struggles To Find Footing

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Shoppers won't shop. Companies won't hire. The government won't spend on economic stimulus - it's cutting instead. And the Federal Reserve is reluctant to do anything more.

Without much to invigorate growth, the economy may be in danger of slipping into a stupor like the one Japan has failed to shake off for more than a decade. And Wall Street is spooked.

The Dow Jones industrial average Wednesday barely broke an eight-day losing streak, finishing up about 30 points. A nine-day losing streak would have been the Dow's first since February 1978.

Even with the gain, the Dow has fallen 828 points, or 6.5 percent, over the past nine trading days. Investors didn't even pause to celebrate the resolution over the weekend of a dangerous debt standoff in Washington.

Stunned by news last week that the economy barely grew in the first half of 2011, economists are lowering their forecasts for the full year and recalculating the odds that the economy will slide back into recession.

Kurt Karl, chief U.S. economist at Swiss Re, has cut his 2011 forecast for growth this year to 1.8 percent from 2.6 percent. And he has bumped up the likelihood of another recession to 20 percent from 15 percent.

"The last week has made it much more likely that corporate profit estimates will be revised lower," said Nick Kalivas, a vice president of financial research at MF Global.

The stocks that have fallen the furthest have been those of companies that fare best in economic expansions. Industrial companies like Caterpillar and Boeing, energy companies like Exxon Mobil and Chevron, and retailers like Amazon and Coach have all fallen by more than the broader stock market.

Investors have pushed government bond yields to their lowest level of the year. The 10-year Treasury note now yields 2.6 percent. Bond yields typically fall when the economy is weak because nervous investors view bonds as a safe place to park their money, and there's less chance that inflation will erode their value.

The economy started sputtering early in the year. Economists at first thought the slowdown would be temporary, the result of a short-term rise in gasoline prices and an earthquake in Japan that disrupted shipments of auto parts and electronics.

But the weakness persisted. And it worsened as a political fight over debt and deficits raised the risk that the U.S. government would not be able to pay all its bills.

"It now seems fairly clear that those shocks have done a lot more damage than we expected," says Leo Abruzzese, global forecasting director for the Economist Intelligence Unit. "They seem to have had a devastating effect on confidence."

After the government reported that the economy grew at an annual pace of 0.4 percent in the first quarter and 1.3 percent in the second, Abruzzese is cutting his estimate for 2011 growth from 2.4 percent to less than 2 percent.

It's hard to see anything lifting growth to the 2.5 percent needed to keep unemployment from rising, let alone the 5 percent needed to bring the rate down significantly from June's 9.2 percent.

"Sales are what keeps the market moving higher, and there's not much demand when there's only 0.4 percent growth," said Andrew Goldberg, U.S. market strategist at JP Morgan Funds.

When the economy grows less than 2 percent over a 12-month period, it risks slipping into recession, says Mark Vitner, senior economist at Wells Fargo Securities. Over the most recent such period, the economy grew just 1.6 percent.

Few economists are predicting another recession, despite a series of weak economic reports. Gasoline prices have come down from their high of almost $4 a gallon in May. And Japanese factories are starting to crank up again after the March earthquake.

At the heart of the economy's problems are the debts that consumers built up during the early and mid-2000s. Many borrowed against the equity in their homes, convinced that house prices would rise forever.

When housing prices collapsed, people were left owing more than their homes were worth. Others charged up their credit cards. Now it's payback time, and Americans are spending less or spending cautiously as they slash their debts.

Companies are reluctant to hire until they're convinced enough customers are ready to buy their products or services. Corporate profits are booming, though, because companies laid off millions of workers, learned to operate more efficiently with smaller staffs and expanded in growing markets overseas.

"If companies were inclined to hire, they could," Abruzzese says.

So companies are waiting for consumers to spend, and consumers are waiting for companies to hire them or offer generous pay raises and job security. It's a tough cycle to break.

In the past, the government has helped by spending on infrastructure projects or jobs programs. This time, it's cutting at all levels. In the second quarter, government cutbacks reduced economic growth by 0.2 percentage points.

More cuts are coming. The deal to raise the debt limit calls for $917 billion in federal spending cuts. Those won't do much immediate damage to the economy because they mostly kick in after 2013, but a special congressional committee is supposed to find at least another $1.2 trillion in savings over the next decade, and no one knows where the ax will fall.

"You're not sure if there are going to be huge spending cuts or tax increases. Or are they just going to wrangle?" Swiss Re economist Karl says. "If you're a supplier to any part of the government, you certainly are not rushing to hire people or buy equipment. There's definitely a damper on growth."

To some economists, the United States is starting to look eerily like Japan. The Japanese economy fell into a recession in the early `90s. It has never fully returned to health, largely because of policy mistakes. The government raised taxes after declaring victory over the downturn prematurely. And U.S. economists, including current Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, criticized the Japanese central bank, the Bank of Japan, for being too passive to turn the economy around.

The Fed has kept short-term interest rates near zero since December 2008 to stimulate the economy. But at the end of June, it ended a $600 billion program to buy government bonds and keep long-term rates - the ones that determine the rates people pay on cars and houses - low.

It was the second round of what economists call quantitative easing, or QE2 for short. But the Fed has no plans for a third, fearing it would lead to higher inflation.

Kenneth Rogoff, a Harvard University economist, says that in this economy, QE3 - and, if necessary, QE4 and beyond - is the only hope.

"Yes, we are starting to look like Japan," he says. "But it is not too late."

Someone related to Robert & Sylve Huckins must have some means to reach them, if it be Michael Huckins, Dr.Kenneth Ogilvie ( Diana Huckins? Dominic Huckins? Malcolm Huckins? ) or Patricia Ogilvie-Huckins and get them to return ALL of the money they stole from us. I, like those victims who came before me, have been dragged through a living hell and I simply beg for your mercy.

I can't obtain a home until Robert Huckins retu
rns the money he stole from us that was to buy a home, and I can't remain homeless.

Had he given the money back when he promised the white collar crime investigators I wouldn't be making this plea today. Had he never stolen our building fund I wouldn't be making this plea today.

But he pushes the abuse and torment to an extent where no alternatives are offered.

Today Robert Huckins has his own home...
He also has OUR home.....
He also has a lot of people's money...
And his freedom.

No women should be abused to this degree. I am homeless and I want to see my mum and return to my career, so I won't stop asking if I have to ask every single day until I die. Robert Huckins gave no-one an alternative, so I plead with sincerity for your mercy and intervention.

When Power Is Poison

Today was a long day but not an unproductive day simply by virtue of not being ill, yet I really had to fight depression and panic all day. Two weeks ago I got a speeding ticket while going to Capitan. I was doing 7 miles over the speed limit but I did slow down when I spotted the police car.

The police officer was wonderful. He asked if I would like to contest the ticket and I simply laughed and said, "no, I don't argue with radar guns. I have to plead guilty." So this morning I went to the city hall in Capitan to pay the fine. I believe that this is the fourth ticket I have had in 40 years of driving.

My youngest daughter had further complications with the MRSA and is heading back into the hospital tomorrow. This is getting so worrisome and I always feel so helpless.

When I first became involved in the judicial system I couldn't miss the power that Robert Huckins was wielding. He could have returned the money he stole, knowing that without it I would face permanent homelessness and never see my mother again. He and Sylve also knew that it would shatter my family, and wreck my career .. and I would never be able to finance a rental.

Directly before his arrest for stealing my money my oldest daughter and I tried to "persuade" him and Sylve to return the stolen building fund. The actual term is "begging." Sylve Huckins was the first to refuse to give the money back, and Robert Huckins then refused to give the money back.
I looked them right in the face and said, "Oh surely can't be going to leave us permanent homeless."
His response? "I don't CARE what happens to you. I only care what happens to us."

I have thought about that statement a lot today. Today he STILL has control of our lives. I can't get a home because they refuse to give the money they stole back. It's a malicious cruel game, but it's one I have no idea how to stop.
Justice isn't being left homeless and unable to finance a home because a convicted felon wants to taunt and be cruel. That behavior is abuse.

Trying to prevent myself from getting so churned up about the fear of being homeless through yet another winter I tried to keep my mind OFF the single wide and barn today, and the stolen building fund, but I broke down and asked Jan is she had heard from the electrician. She hadn't, so I am no further forward knowing what I need to do to get utilities to the land. This is really too much.

But at least the weather was cool and a slow rain fell most of the afternoon with thunder all evening. Perhaps tomorrow will bring a miracle. I so need a miracle, not only for myself but my youngest daughter too.

PLEASE help me help myself. I have never begged before in my life, but after 3 years of trying to get a home it's become clearly obvious to everyone that we won't ever have a home - unless our building fund is returned.

Nothing is so hard for those who abound in riches as to conceive how others can be in want.~ Jonathan Swift

Blue Monday

This has been a very blue Monday. The rain clouds and thunder arrived in the afternoon but the amount of rain we received was not substantial, still it dropped the daytime temperature to 65 making the cool mountains cool indeed.

August 1st was a date I was dreading. I try so hard to get a home on that property but it's like spinning wheels getting nowhere. The longer it goes on the more ill I become. Today I became so ill I could not even get out of bed. I'm starting to wonder if the victims of felony crime may as well lay down and die. It seems that as long as the convicted felon is safe and comfortable the victim can go to hell in a hand basket.
I still have not heard a word about the electricity.. sad when something as simple becomes so difficult to attain. I am now going into full blown panic fearing winter.

I should have done a lot today, but that wasn't going to materialize. The small band of bucks came in begging for sweet feed. Yesterday I saw them down the road begging for cracked corn from tourists. I love animals. All animals. They are a real blessing to me.

It will soon be my youngest grand-daughters birthday.. and Christmas is looming ahead closer than I dare look towards. I can't handle another winter sleeping out in the elements and I am simply heartbroken that I can't tell mum to come and see her home. I don't know how this nightmare will end.. but right now it's looking as though it will end in a compassionate manner. I am terrified and stressed beyond what a human being can handle.

I had a conversation about crime today with someone who knows quite a lot about the subject here in America. I get a lot of readers from across the globe, and I am wondering how fraud and embezzlement is handled in others nations. If anyone from a different country would like to write to me and let me know what the different laws are I would appreciate the information.

Again I appeal to the Huckins family members I am aware of, Malcolm Huckins, Dr. Kenneth Ogilvie, Patricia Ogilvie-Huckins. ( Diana Huckins? Dominic Huckins? Malcolm Huckins? ) What happened to Dorothy McKeever was inexcusable, and not one person would speak up for her. What happened to myself and my family no different. Your brother, cousin, son, Robert Huckins, stole our building fund knowing that once it was hidden we wouldn't even have the funds to rent a home.

He walked out of the Wells Fargo Bank on Sudderth Drive with $110,000 DAYS before the White Collar Crime investigators, for the State of New Mexico, demanded that he repay ALL of our building fund back within a 30 day period. The money disappeared into thin air, even though days later he was recorded in a deposition admitting that he had the money, adding that he didn't need 30 days to repay the money back, he could pay it back in less time.

Officer John Barnes of the state police was present during that deposition. Someone knows where our building fund is. And the people who know where it is are perfectly aware of the damage they are doing. There was much, much money collected from numerous victims than the amount of money recorded in this particular withdrawal from the Wells Fargo bank. And it wasn't spent on contracted jobs, because almost all employees and subcontractors were given hot checks. A number so large in dollar amount and numbers that it was impossible to account for them all.

Today Robert Huckins has his own home...
He also has OUR home.....
He also has a lot of people's money...
And his freedom.

I can't physically go on being homeless and I want to see my mother. The 12th District Courts described this damage as "grievous." I would call it far more. Abuse above and beyond what any woman should be subjected to, let alone a victim of crime.
I implore you to intervene and make your brother, cousin, son, return ALL of the building fund that he stole so that we can have what you all have...
a home. We have paid for a home many, many times over both in finances and pain & suffering due to this continued this cruelty. I will keep asking every single day until the day I die, because I am so desperate.

Behind The Eight Ball

Yesterday morning I woke up at 5 am with a wicked migraine. After numbing myself with medication it stayed as a dull throb behind my right eye, but I had already started to feel nauseous. The weather was so beautiful and so cool I wished I felt better physically. But I didn't and I found myself too ill to try to do anything until almost 3 pm. By that time dark angry clouds were coming over the Sierra Blanca, but they brought no rain.

My trip to TR's to get a racing program for my boss had me sitting outside the store so physically ill I didn't know how to get into that store or out again without vomiting. There are times gagging is so bad my throat feels like razor blades have been playing skip rope right behind my tongue and down my throat.

My step father died of emphysema. A designing engineer for British Jeffrey Diamonds for 35 years he had to be one of the most honest, honorable and intelligent human beings I have ever met. A lot of the machinery used in American mines.. he designed. Up until his death his mind was as sharp as anytime in his life. He was trapped in a dying body.
I couldn't imagine the sheer horror of having full faculties, of wanting to do things but not having the physical ability to do so.
Today I am starting to understand more than I want to.
As a woman being left homeless by a convicted felon is perhaps the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced for many reasons. It's not the silent crashing of your life around you. A career in shambles. It's not the fractured family, loved ones you can't see. It's not health problems or financial problems. It's not the loss of self esteem and self worth as you beg for someone, anyone, to stop this madness. It's not the gossip and lying borne from bored people who want to embroider stories that are not true. It's not any one of those particular things.. it's the whole package. It's everything compounded. It's being told that I am right behind the eight ball, with thieves holding the money they stole from us, and not one person cares.

This morning I woke up still with the dull pain behind my eyes but no longer feeling nauseous. Prayerfully rain will come today.. we need it in the worst way. Lord, let it rain.
